After leaving within the first quarter of week one with a concussion, Kyler Murray is set to make his return in Tampa.
Despite his absence, the Vikings have been able to win their first two games; however, their passing offense was ranked 31st in yards/game (129.5), and 28th in completion percentage (59.1%). Carson Wentz has been able to keep the team competitive, yet there must be improvements within the offense to win down the line.
For starters, Murray has an average completion percentage of 67.1%. He had a completion percentage of 66.4% in 2022, 65.7% in 2023, 68.8% in 2024, and 68.3% in 2025. The former Cardinals quarterback has the capacity to bolster Minnesota’s accuracy, but whether or not he executes in this new offense is up in the air.
Murray has had to undergo significant play-calling changes, shifting to an offense that runs under center about 47% of the time. In Arizona, Murray only played about 5% of his snaps under center. In Minnesota, however, the former Sooner has Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in the backfield.
